Cognitive Behavioural Therapy In North London
My name is Amanda Magill and I am a CBT therapist in North London accredited by, accountable to and regulated by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). CBT is a powerful tool to help you to make changes to your life, whether your problems are simple or complicated.
I have worked in the field of mental well-being for several years in a range of settings including schools, supported housing, a hospice, and most recently on a six-month placement at The Priory Hospital North London, working in the general psychiatric team. I have been seeing private clients since May 2019.
You can choose to meet face-to-face at my garden therapy room in High Barnet (subject to COVID restrictions) or to have online sessions via Zoom. I offer an initial 15-minute telephone call free of charge (see FAQ and Fees).
As I have a background in education, I work with children and adolescents as well as with adults. I am fully insured and have a DBS.
CBT is a highly structured and clinically proven treatment endorsed by the Department of Health, National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), British Psychological Society, Royal College of Psychiatrists, Royal College of General Practitioners, and the UK Council for Psychotherapy.
How I Can Help You
I can help you with a whole range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, OCD, PTSD, low self-esteem, and specific phobias.
In addition, I offer specialised help with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), CBT-I for insomnia and sleep difficulties, Relapse Prevention treatment for Bipolar Disorder and specialised treatment for Misophonia.
